The AHEPA District 5 Basketball League was organized in 1995 by young Greek American men, many former Sons of Pericles, who wanted to maintain their friendships and also compete in the great American game of basketball. The League is open to young men from 18 years of age and older.
Participation is open to young men of Greek descent or to members of the AHEPA family, which includes the Sons of Pericles, the Junior Order of AHEPA. It is also open to any member of the Greek Orthodox Church, including a Church team or any team sponsored by any other Greek American organization.
Games are played on week-nights from November to March, at various sites throughout the state of New Jersey.
